Announcing Dome9 Security Groups

Wow – what an amazing year 2011 was for the team at Dome9 Security. We came out of stealth mode, announced funding, launched general availability, unveiled a slew of exciting new partnerships, and now, to kick off the new year, we’re unveiling our latest engineering feat, Dome9 Security Groups.

Dome9 Security Groups is an all-new feature that allows you to create group-based policies by joining together management of multiple servers.

If you’re familiar with AWS security groups, you’ll really enjoy this new feature. Servers can be added to one or more Dome9 Security Groups, which you create and customize. Security Groups let you set a single policy to centrally manage an infinite number of servers across multiple clouds.

Unlike AWS, however, Dome9 Security Groups spans multiple clouds and cloud providers, so you can set a single firewall policy, for example, and it’s applied across ALL of your dedicated, VPS, and cloud servers, regardless of location, OS or cloud provider. What’s more, you can move servers from one Security Group to another, and even put servers in multiple Security Groups – all without having to delete a Security Group or create a new one.

With Dome9 Security Groups, you can:
 •  Apply a single policy for similar types of servers
Example: SSH On-demand for all SQL Servers

 •  Configure user access for a group of servers rather than just individual ones
Example: Database Administrators can access all servers in the SQL Servers      Group via MySQL

 •  Scale management to an infinite number of servers across multiple clouds
Example: Enable SSH On-demand for all SQL Servers across AWS EC2,      Rackspace, and GoGrid

Dome9 Security Groups is available now. Sign in or Sign Up to check it out.
